How to Become a Fitness Model

There are many ways but here are the things that helped me and things I have used.

I am often asked how I got involved in the fitness industry.

Here are some steps/resources I used to get started. If you want something bad enough make sure to stay focused, think and talk positive, be ready for opportunities and think creatively. There are so many people who want to get involved that you will need to find ways to get involved because they will most likely not find you

Here are some steps/resources I used to get started. If you want something bad enough make sure to stay focused, think and talk positive, be ready for opportunities and think creatively. There are so many people who want to get involved that you will need to find ways to get involved because they will most likely not find you.

I first started by entering a competition and then used the following:

1. Staying in shape 365 days a year is a MUST
There have been so many times I only had three days to a week to get ready for a project. So many girls do not look like the pictures they submit. Not showing up in shape will cause you to never get asked back again. I have always been hired back because I show up ready to impress. Not only do I get hired back with the company but they have also passed my name along.

2. Join a variety of social networking sites and / or start up a website.
This is a great way to promote yourself, advertise your goals and build a following. Social sites are free to join and even websites and it is free advertisements.

3. Continue to tell people about your goals.
84% of jobs come from networking – my first and most of my jobs have come from someone passing my name along.

4. Start building a portfolio of pictures.
Only post the best of the best do not select all and post. You want people seeing the best you.

5. Start participating in a few blogs:

6. Try joining an agency (you will need to send in some photos):
http://silvermodels.com/
This agency is one of the largest and most well known agencies I have heard of but I am sure there are plenty more out there – try using Google.

7. Buy “How to Become a Fitness Model” by: Clark Bartram. This book has numerous tools to help… I have a copy of this book.

8. Consider competing – competitions are a great way to network.
Before making any decision make sure you do your research…
